The Good, The Bad, and the UGLY!
This page is for place that have treated you, the driver, and your passengers either in a great way, or as we will see, sometimes a bad way. If you can think of any more, please feel free to add them.
Good Guys
Orlando, FL. - Sea World - Excellent treatment for the group, and free entry to driver and escort.
Orlando, FL. - Universal Parks - Free Entry to Driver. (except on grad bash weekends)
Tampa, FL. - Busch Gardens - Comp admission for the driver. Nice park, lots of things to do.
Pittsburgh, PA. - Kennywood Park - Driver gets in as a comp. Excellent classic park.
Bad Guys
Tampa, FL. - Popeyes Chicken in the T/A truck stop, I-4 Exit 10 - I personally stopped my bus here with a full load of passengers who went in. I went in too as I was hungry, and was charged for my meal. I casually mentioned I was the bus driver and was told " I don't care who you are".
Florence, SC. - Zaxbys at 2211 W. Lucas. Does not comp the driver. Right off I-95 at exit 164.
Lancaster, PA. - Wendys by Dutch Wonderland. Will not comp the driver or the guide. (This may be limited to this Wendys, as Wendys itself has always been good to us drivers.)
Orlando, FL. - Walt Disney World has a strange and outrageous policy. In addition to not allowing drivers or escorts in the park as a comp, they also have instituted a rather unfair parking policy. In order to make as much money as they possibly can, the charge the bus $18.00 to park, REGARDLESS of whether or not you "park" You can't simply go in a drop off your passengers at Disney parks without paying this outrageous fee. They are the only park that I know of that actually charges the bus to drop people off. Even when you pay this fee, the driver still has to sit in the bus, as they won't allow you in.
Perhaps they need to re-think this policy, because i can see some irritated driver dumping guests off at the parking gate and leaving. What they should do is simple. If you are dropping, go in and drop. but you must then leave. If you stay, then you have the 18 dollar ticket on your windshield saying you paid. Simple really...But, it's all about the money.
Please send me as many of these as you can. We need to appreciate those who do good by us and our passengers, and call attention to those who don't.
